Rivamoto Honda have had an encouraging start to the 9th round of the World Supersport championship at Silverstone today with Jack Kennedy securing 7th on the provisional grid.

Weather conditions today were mixed, as light rain coupled with bursts of sunshine made it extremely difficult to complete the necessary machine set-ups required. A number of riders are complaining of a lack of grip from the ultra technical Northamptonshire circuit, a view shared by both Rivamoto riders.

Jack Kennedy once again left it late in the session to move into the top 10, and was unlucky to lose out on a provisional second row start in the closing seconds of qualifying.

Jack Kennedy: ” We are still trying to find the right direction with the bike. We made some positive steps this afternoon but we are not quite there yet. I am struggling for grip but it was slightly better in the qualifying session compared to this morning. We are managing some good consistent laps, I  just need a one off lap for the grid. Hopefully it will be dry tomorrow so we get another shot at it.”

Final qualifying is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 1605 local time.
