Britain's Cal Crutchlow has said there is no chance of him getting his hands on a seamless-shift gearbox before end of the 2013 MotoGP season even if Yamaha bring one for their factory riders.

There has been much speculation pre-season that a gearbox to match that which the Repsol Hondas use is on the way from Yamaha but Jorge Lorenzo said at Austin he hadn't been told when that was, and Crutchlow said if it does come, he won't get one so will be forced to use the current, age-old version.

"Our gearbox is not very good, it's the same as it was when Valentino last rode the bike. We can't change gear if we have any spin, you have to shut off like a road bike. I am sure some CRTs don't have to do that, in all honesty," said Crutchlow, speaking at Jerez.

"If Jorge's got it, he is obviously making it work. I don't know what they have got, I haven't bothered asking as there is no point. Even if Yamaha bring a seamless-shift gearbox this year, I can guarantee you now there is zero chance I will use it, and I accept that."
