JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s Leon Haslam will compete in the MCE British Superbike double-header at Brands Hatch on Sunday. He has been passed fit by medical staff, after a big race one crash going into Graham Hill Bend.

The former World Superbike star was taken to the medical centre to be checked after the wet race one incident, he is feeling a bit sore but determined to come back stronger. The Smalley rider has also bruised his hip.

His rival, Be Wiser Ducati’s Shane Byrne ended the opening race in sixth, and gained ten points over Haslam. Now 27 points separate the title fighters in the championship standings going into the final day of the season.

“Leon has bruised his hip and a little bit bashed around and he is a little bit down, and he is a tough cookie and he will bounce back tomorrow. As far as we are concerned we are in for the fight for the championship and anything can happen,” said JG Speedfit Kawasaki Team Manager Terry Rymer, speaking to Bikesportnews.com from the track this evening.

“It is going to be wet tomorrow it is like a lottery out there. As an ex rider I am watching the guys going round and it is really difficult to control a 220 horse power when it is slippery conditions like that.”
