It's the 5th round of the BTCC this weekend and BTC Norlin Racing driver Chris Smiley is raring to go. Below is the report of the build up to Croft

Carrickfergus man Chris Smiley ready to move up a gear in British Touring Car Championship.

Chris Smiley hopes to get back on track as he prepares to take on the fifth leg of the British Touring Car championship this weekend in Yorkshire.
This is one of the most pivotal rounds of the BTCC as Croft is known to be one of the most challenging courses due to how technical it is.
Putting aside the disappointing result from the last round, Smiley is ready to continue to climb up the overall driver standings.

The Northern Irishman, a former Mini Challenge champion, currently lies in 15th place overall.
Smiley noted in his last outing 'could have gone better' as a fuel pressure issue forced him to start from the back of the grid.

'I'm really looking forward to taking on Croft. It was the first ever circuit where I secured pole position, so I'm hoping it's kind to me again.'

Team owner, Stephen Symington, commented 'We are continuing to learn and develop the cars at each round, and hope that Croft provides us with more opportunities to show what we can do'.
