Tyco BMW’s Ian Hutchinson was forced to battle through the pack to take his first Pirelli National Superstock 1000 win of the year. The roads legend fought off the close attention of Adam Jenkinson and had to make his way through a gaggle of backmarkers to eventually take the chequered flag. After standing on top of the podium at the conclusion of yesterday’s mammoth 50 mile event, Bennetts Suzuki’s Richard Cooper couldn’t wrap up a double win. Eventually, the diminutive rider had to settle for third place but was still able to extend his championship lead to eight points. EHA Racing’s Luke Hedger was impressive yesterday and matched it again today, getting the better of former champion Danny Buchan in the closing stages to grab fourth. Morello Kawasaki’s Fraser Rogers came across the line in sixth before Geordie Chrissy Rouse took the chequered flag narrowly ahead of Michael Rutter.
