BRDC ‘Rising Star’ Jake Hill heads to the iconic Silverstone confident that the top-ten form shown throughout the year will be in evidence at the penultimate Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship event of 2017.

Hill took top-ten finishes at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Snetterton, taking points at every one of the half of the season, and kicked off the second half of the year with a best-ever BTCC weekend at Snetterton, taking three-top ten results and a best finish of sixth.

“Last year I took my best-ever BTCC finish in race one, finishing 5th. We have been close to matching or even improving on that on a number of occasions this year, and I love racing here, especially as I am hugely proud to be part of the British Racing Driver’s Club (BRDC) ‘Rising Stars’ programme for young drivers. To show well here in front of the BRDC members is always special, but my main focus is challenging for my first Independent Win” smiled Jake.

Hill has had some tough races recently, but is very confident that his VW CC should suit the Silverstone circuit.

“We found something in the car after Rockingham that may have explained why we didn’t go as well as we’d hoped, so that and using a set-up we feel very happy with, plus the car’s natural straighten speed means I am really looking forward to getting out there, and of course finishing 2017 well. We’ve improved on last year - more points, more regular top-ten finishes and qualifying in the top-ten on three occasions has been really good.

“This weekend we have so many guests from our fantastic partners joining us - from TAG Racing, Rolec Racing, Brisky Racing, AWS Appliance Spares, Ecoflam, Danfoss, Bill Rawles Classic Cars and have as always the support from Sportif Cars, Zynth, JEP, Model World, Litchfield and TechMax - and are delighted to welcome Midshires Electrical on board too. It’s been a real battle recently to ensure we finish the season, so a huge, huge thanks to everyone for making it possible, and especially for Tony Gilham and everyone at the team for their support and belief in me. Let’s hope I can give everyone something to cheer about!”
