As sunshine bathed Brands Hatch, all 32 drivers and their teams were completing their final preparations for the opening weekend in the 60th Anniversary Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, and none of the drivers are feeling more excited than 24 year-old BRDC Rising Star Jake Hill.

“We are just up the road in Goudhurst near Tunbridge Wells, so it means a huge amount to be racing on my home circuit. My Trade Price Cars Brisky Racing team mate Mike (Bushell) lives in Tonbridge, and of course the team are from Rochester, so it will be rammed with guests and friends and family”

“Testing has been really encouraging, but we still haven’t really showed our true pace. All four of us have got some really useful data, and our chief engineer Geoff Kingston has been through how we plan on running in qualifying, so the only unknown is the weather! We ran really well in the wet last week at Brands, and know the pace is good from the other tests at Snetterton and Donington, so we feel very happy with how the car should run”

“It’s been a lot of work to get our programme in place, and I am hugely grateful to everyone who is supporting us, especially Brisky Racing, Rolec Racing, Danfoss, Ecoflam, Bill Rawles Classic Cars, AWS Appliance Spares and of course Sportif Motor Group who have supported me since 2010 and are such an important part of what we do. We also have fantastic help from Jakob Ebrey Photography, Tech Max Pro Gear and Torq racewear, Spine Optics, P1 Nutrition, Model World and Zynth for a fantastic website. Of course the team have been amazing, the support from Tony and the crew at Team HARD and the guys at Trade Price Cars is amazing. Let’s hope we can do them proud. I qualified in the top-ten last year so I’m hoping to at least match that this year. Let’s go!
